Protect wakf and endowment lands from encroachments: AIMIM to Telangana govt
Hyderabad: Expressing serious concern at the increasing illegal encroachments of Wakf and Endowments and Temple trusts lands, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Friday demanded the state government to take steps to protect the lands and also take stringent action against those encroached upon the endowments and Wakf lands.
While participating in the debate on new Revenue Bill in the Assembly, he said after the First Survey of Wakf lands, the state government has notified over 77, 000 acres in the state as Wakf land and out of the total extent more than 55, 000 acres are under the illegal encroachments.
He said, “For the past 60 years a lot of injustice was done by the successive governments with regard to Wakf properties and he is hoping that through the new Act, the Chief Minister KCR will certainly do the justice to Wakf as well as the Endowment lands.”
He suggested the Chief Minister to put an end to the registration of Wakf and temple lands by bringing new Acts.
Stating that out of the 22 lakh houses in the limits of GHMC, around 15 lakh houses are without documents, he pointed out that most of the land transactions in notified slums in GHMC limits and other urban areas were based on the notary and they don’t even have building permission.
He requested the chief minister to consider their cases sympathetically and give them a chance for the regularisation by collecting nominal fees for the regularisation of lands and buildings in view of steep fall in the incomes of people under the impact of deadly coronavirus.
He suggested the state government to create Green Zones in Greater Hyderabad. He requested the government to incorporate provision under the New Act which can enable for rectification of wrong entries of land records in the proposed Dharani web portal.
