ECI revokes suspension of Anjani Kumar
Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Tuesday revoked the suspension of Telangana former DGP Anjani Kumar. The poll body lifted the suspension after considering an appeal filed by the top cop.
The Election Commission on December 3 suspended Anjani Kumar for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) by meeting Congress candidate A. Revanth Reddy, now Chief Minister, at his residence during the counting of votes for the state Assembly elections.
The ECI had also issued notices to Sanjay Kumar Jain, Additional DG, Law & Order and Mahesh M Bhagwat, Additional DG, CID, who accompanied Anjani Kumar.
Following the suspension of Anjani Kumar, senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta was given additional charge of state DGP.
