Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Centres Make Life Easier for Haryana's Rural Populace
Hyderabad: Dwellers of rural Haryana used to face difficulties in availing of benefits or, sometimes, even getting to know about benefits they were eligible for under government schemes, but not anymore, with the one-stop centres set up under the Centre’s ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’.
Under this nationwide campaign, which aims to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes of the Union government, officials from multiple state government departments have been stationed under one roof.
Aiming to reach out to the vulnerable, especially those eligible for benefits under various schemes but have not availed them of, the state government of Haryana has also pressed into service a customised vehicle equipped with an LED screen to take governance to people.
Schemes provided by the Union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to the people are displayed on the screen, with the vehicles visiting gram panchayats (GPs), nagar panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
Bimlesh Mahendra Singh, of Farrukhnagar, said that people no longer visit multiple government offices. “Earlier, we had to visit citizen service centres (CSCs) or approach someone to get the benefits offered by the government. Even at CSCs, officials of some government departments were not stationed. Under VBSY, our applications are disposed of immediately, benefiting scores of people like me,” she said.
She also expressed happiness upon getting a free LPG connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
Several beneficiaries of the Khelo India Scheme, PM SVANidhi, Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) and Ayushman Bharat, belonging to Tajnagar, thanked the authorities for formulating VBSY.
A visit to the Tajnagar and Palwal, among other places in Haryana, found that as part of the VBSY, in addition to new enrolments, the shortfall of documents were being accepted and disposed of, benefiting the beneficiaries, in addition to offering them free health check-ups.
Hitesh Kumar Meena, additional deputy commissioner of Gurugram, told reporters from Telangana that in addition to implementing VBSY, the Haryana government has successfully completed 100 per cent digitisation of land records.
Sandeep Aggarwal, subdivisional magistrate of Pataudi, overseeing the VBSY in his jurisdiction, said that they are leaving no stone unturned to ensure all the schemes reach the people.
“In addition to executing government related works, VBSY in villages brings people together and women from self-help groups (SHGs) get a chance to showcase their excellent products related to clothing, food, etc,” said Naresh Kumar, the block development and panchayat officer of Farrukhnagar.
