Khajaguda Model road delayed due to land issues
Hyderabad: Work related to the Khajaguda Model Road is going on at a snail’s pace with no sign of footpaths or streetlights coming up.
This model road being developed to speed up commute for techies, connects Khajaguda to the Outer Ring Road.
Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited took up the project at a cost of Rs 55 crore in July 2018. With several IT companies and schools in the vicinity, a 1m duct and a 1m storm water drain is also being laid. This will ensure that the road is not dug up again. While work on the drain and ducts is going on, land acquisition at two places is likely to delay work.
Officials said work on the central median is in progress and the service road will become the main part. The road is supposed to have a cycling track, apart from a footpath. Officials said land acquisition is in progress for the footpaths. As the land acquisition issues clear up, work will be taken up, as and when land is given.
