HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of driving a surplus state like Telangana into a debt-trap while taking over Rs. five lakh crore loans.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi on Monday, Reddy said that the BRS had convened the Budget Session only to level baseless allegations against the BJP and the NDA. During the Session, the government did not make any statements that assured benefits for the people of the state.
Kishan Reddy found fault with the Chief Minister for praising the Congress in the Assembly and blaming the NDA government. He ridiculed Rao’s alleged double standards of first damaging the Congress by encouraging dissidents and now praising the party. He said this was evident that he was strategising for the Assembly elections. "Rao abused Communist parties and later secured their support. His support for MIM has only been to serve his political interests," Reddy said.
"Why did the state government not discuss 2BHK scheme, three acres land for Dalits, Dalit Bandhu and others schemes during the Assembly session," Kishan Reddy wondered.
Explaining that Prime Minister Narendra Modi protected the country by preventing a financial crisis during his tenure, he said that the GDP growth in India has elevated India to the fifth position from among 193 economies.
"BRS leaders have been making false allegations against me. When I wrote a number of letters seeking assistance to implement Central schemes in Telangana, the Chief Minister has not responded to a single letter," the Union minister said.
He said the BJP-led NDA Union government was implementing Dr B.R. Ambedkar's Constitution in letter and spirit in Jammu and Kashmir and protecting the rights of the people, including Scheduled Castes.
