HYDERABAD: Shahinayathgunj police arrested one Chinta Hema Kumar for displaying a picture of Nathuram Godse during the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra rally organised by Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh on March 30.
He was released on a station bail (notice under 41A of CrPC) said police. A notice will also be served on the MLA soon, they said. Raja Singh is also an accused in the case of making comments against a particular community.
Police said they verified the video footage of the Shobha Yatra when Nathuram Godse's picture was displayed and verification identified the person. Inquiries revealed that Hema Kumar is a BJP activist from Andhra Pradesh and currently residing in Gachibowli. A week before the event, he came to Mangalhat and registered himself as a volunteer in the rally, the police found.
