Lukewarm response to Vuda plots on sale in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Apart from the row houses, Vuda is struggling to dispose many vacant plots in the layouts it developed in various parts of the city especially on the outskirts.
Vuda had called for auction of these unsold plots in at least half a dozen layouts developed in and around Madhurawada for more than five times but there are no takers for them.
Failure of providing basic facilities and infrastructure in these layouts has deterred prospective buyers to buy these plots. Vuda has also lost revenue from these plots which were developed more than 10 years ago. At this juncture, Vuda is getting ready to develop another layout near Bheemili under PPP mode with a private party.
There are at least 25 vacant plots in 10 layouts which are up for grabs. In another layout developed in Paradesipalem with land pooled from farmers there are around 18 plots that are lying unsold.
Vuda had recently issued a fresh notification to conduct auction to dispose these unsold plots. As per the fresh notification last date to submit applications to take part in the auction of these plots is June 20 and the auction will be conducted on June 30 at Andhra University convocation hall.
Vuda has decided to develop another new layout near Bheemili with a private partner. Vuda in association with Vensar Meadows Private Limited has taken up layout development project-Fortune Hills at Dakamarri area near Bheemili in an extent of 99 acres.
Of the total 1,166 vacant plots of the project, 130 are proposed to conduct auction for HIG and MIG from June 27 to 29 at AU convocation hall.
LIG plots are proposed for allotment by the drawl of lottery as per the allotment rules.
Besides the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) plots have been handed over to the District Collector for allotting to the weaker sections.
“Vuda always promotes its properties promising moon. But in reality they fail to provide basic amenities. Most of its promises are not met. One such example is Vuda Harita Housing project,” said a member of Vuda Harita Allottees Association.
