AP reacts strongly against KCR's remarks on power supply
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has reacted very strongly to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s “offensive” remarks and advised him to visit AP and ascertain for himself whether there is sufficient power supply or not.
KCR, while addressing a public meeting in Gadwal on Monday, commented that when one crossed the Tungabhadra bridge towards AP, he or she could find out that there was no all-time power supply there, while TS was having power supply round-the-clock.
Industries minister G. Amarnath rubbished the claim and said AP was having no power cut in the peak of summer even as the power consumption had gone up in the state.
“Telangana does not mean only Hyderabad as it has more than 30 districts. If the Telangana CM is able to develop the entire state, he can claim credit for it. Hyderabad was developed when it was the capital city of the united AP and KCR only continued the development. People in Khammam, located along the AP border, are astonished at the welfare schemes and developmental works being taken up by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in AP, which those in Telangana lacked,” he said.
He added, “I wonder what KCR can say about it. I advise him to learn the facts before making allegations to gain political mileage.”
