Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), an entity of Government of Andhra Pradesh, is coordinating organising of Srinivasa Kalyanams across 11 locations in the USA from June 17 to July 23.
These Kalyanams are being performed by TTD priests and Vedic pandits as per Vykhanasa Aagamam tradition. These programmes have already been held in Canada at Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa on June 4, June 10 and June 11 respectively.
APNRTS president Venkat S. Medapati said Srinivasa Kalyanams across North America are being performed for the benefit of devotees unable to visit Tirumala and seek Lord Venkateswara’s blessings.
Venkat said APNRTS is coordinating with TTD and NRI Telugu and spiritual organisations to ensure that these events are organised as per aesthetic and divine themes. More than 10,000 NRI devotees from Telugu as well as other states have participated in Lord Venkateswara’s Kalyanams in Canada.
Laddu prasadams brought from Tirumala have been distributed to them.
Venkat maintained that Srinivasa Kalyanams are being organised on the directive of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy not only in India but around the world to facilitate devotees of Lord Venkateswara seek His blessings. TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy is guiding these events.
All Srinivasa Kalyanam rituals from Suprabhatam to Kalyanotsava Kratuvu are being performed just as they are done in Tirumala, he stated.
