Indian Economy Climbed to Fifth in World Under PM Modi: Karad

Vijayawada: Union minister of state for finance Bhagwat Kishan Rao Karad said the Indian economy that had been in 10th position in the world during 2014 has risen to the fifth position under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule.

Inaugurating the sixth Rozgar Mela of various public sector organisations at the Vijayawada Railway Auditorium on Tuesday, the union minister handed over appointment letters to 117 people who got jobs in the organisations.

He said the Prime Minister has started the mela of employing 10 lakh people across the country. He maintained that this event is significant, as the percentage of youth in India is more than 50.

Kishan Rao pointed out that recruitments are being made in departments including posts and telegraph, public sector banks, railways and CPWD. He underlined that the country's budget expenditure has almost tripled from ₹16 lakh crore to ₹45 lakh crore.

The Union minister explained how digitisation has expanded, with 40 per cent of the world’s transactions taking place in India.

MP (Rajya Sabha) Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, representatives from Union Bank of India, Department of Financial Services, Railways, Posts and BSF participated in the programme.
