Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department, which is probing the late deputy superintendent of police, M.K. Ganapati’s unnatural death report case, has reportedly received the complaint by the late officer’s wife Pavana and elder son Nehal, which they had given to the Kodagu Rural police urging them to register a case of abetment of suicide under Sec 306 of IPC against Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George and two senior IPS officers ADGP (Intelligence) A.M. Prasad and IGP, Lokayukta, Pronab Mohanty.
Mr Ganapati in his last interview to a Kodagu TV channel had alleged that if something happened to him these three should be held responsible.
The Kodagu Rural police had refused to register a case under 306 IPC against the trio, because the UDR case is being investigated by the CID. Sources said that they have forwarded the complaint to the CID.
On July 11 Nehal subsequently filed the complaint in the court of Additional JMFC, Madikeri requesting the court to refer the matter to the Superintendent of Kodagu district for investigation.
Meanwhile, the CID on Monday submitted a preliminary report on the highly sensitive and politicised case to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Dr G. Parameshwar. “The agency is investigating the case and if they find evidence, which proves the abetment charges then they will register a fresh FIR,” said an official source.
