Unauthorised agricultural institutes hrive in Telangana

It may be mentioned here that though the institutes are located in Hyderabad, certificates are issued in the name of other states.

Hyderabad: Agricultural institutes without proper permission from state government continue to run in the state of Telangana. A complaint has been given on such institutes — Greenfields and Apollo Institute of Agriculture and Technology, to the Telangana State Higher Education Council by students on Friday.

The complaint given by the National Students Union of India (NSUI) said, “These bogus colleges and institutions like Greenfields Institute of Agriculture Research and Development, Apollo Institute of Technology and research and also some other colleges are not recognised by either state government, state agricultural university or ICAR.”

When the state agricultural university was asked, it confirmed that neither the state government nor the PJTSAU has accorded any permission or affiliation to these institutes. Students also allege that these institutes are running without qualified staff as per UGC terms as well.

Mr Marka Abhinay Goud from the National Students Union of India said, “There is no permission to run these colleges. Teachers employed in these institutes are not even qualified to teach as per UGC regulations and they do not maintain proper labs, field activity and proper infrastructure.”

It may be mentioned here that though the institutes are located in Hyderabad, certificates are issued in the name of other states. The websites of both institutes claim that they have a collaboration with Singhania University in Rajasthan and have signed an MoU with that university.

The Telangana State Higher Education Council said that they would send a notice to these institutes and check the veracity of the permission that the institutes claim. If found unsatisfactory, they would recommend strict action on these institutes to state government, said a higher official.
