Heavy rains to lash Telangana for next four days: IMD
HYDERABAD: People from the city experienced this month's first daytime spell of rains but most people seemed prepared for the showers. The morning temperatures came down and clouds covered the skies around 11 am, a clear indication to people to step out duly prepared. Though the showers continued until evening, its intensity came down. The conditions may remain the same on
Thursday, weather experts said.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the state is likely to have heavy rains for the next four days. The northern part of Telangana received good showers thereby putting an end to deficit worries. Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri and Kothagudem saw rains with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places.
Meanwhile, rains caused traffic jams in the afternoon at several junctions but eased in a couple of hours. Drainage water on the roads, however, made it difficult for pedestrians to walk. Many seemed to prefer the metro rail and buses in the evening after a forecast of night showers while cab and other taxi charges surged.
