Coalition of regional parties led by Gowda will form govt at Centre: A H Vishwanath
Mysuru: State Janata Dal (Secular) president A.H. Vishwanath has predicted that a coalition of regional parties will come to power at the Centre after the next Lok Sabha elections adding that JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda who is an ex-PM, can lead them all in the faceoff with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking potshots at the coalition partner, Congress, he said, “Congress called us the B team of the Bharatiya Janata Party. But we did not go with the BJP to form the government after the polls.” He disclosed that he will be part of the Congress-JD (S) co ordination committee, where he would express his views. “There will not be any problem, we will all work together,” he said.
Announcing his plans for a state-wide tour from Kalaburgi to remove any misunderstanding about the JD(S) in the minds of people, Vishwanath also made it clear that Prajwal Revanna, son of Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna, will get a better position in the party. “Apart from the fact that he is the grandson of Deve Gowda, he is also a good leader and such leaders are an asset to the party,” he said.
Wishing his rival and former chief minister Siddaramaiah on his birthday, the fomer MP said, “let him live a 100 years and become a national leader too.” On allegations of misuse of tax payers’ money for the swearing-in ceremony of H.D. Kumaraswamy, he said, “Guests from even other countries were invited for the swearing-in of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. So was that not a misuse of taxpayers’ money?”
