2 held for challenging Karnataka minister's son?
Mysuru: Dalit Sangarsh Samithi convener Kukkur Raju has condemned the arrest of two Dalit boys, who reportedly questioned the launch of a government project by Mr Sunil Bose, son of PWD Minister Dr H.C. Mahadevappa recently.
“The police arrested Shivamurthy and Pravin as per the directions of Sunil Bose,” he alleged.
Mr Raju said that Mr Bose had reportedly gone to lay the foundation stone for Rs 1.20 crore worth road project on December 8 at Kukkuru village in T. Narsipur Constituency, in the absence of his father, MLA of the constituency Dr Mahadevappa.
Two youths from the village reportedly asked Mr Bose whether he was a government representative and whether he had the authority to solve their problems without being a public representative.
Taluk Panchayat member of Holesaalu, Ganesh, asked the two youths to keep quiet. Mr Bose intervened and directed the police to take the two youths away.
Talakadu police arrested Shivamurthy and Pravin and filed a case of infringement of peace and produced them before a magistrate only on Saturday afternoon. “The two youths did not assault anyone or create trouble. Is it wrong on their part to ask justice? How can the son of a minister launch a project? It is an atrocity against the two hapless youngsters,” he said.
