Eluru: Conduct camps on voter enrolment, says AP CEO
Eluru: AP chief electoral officer R.P. Sisodia directed the officials to conduct more awareness programmes to enable youth, crossing 18 years of age, to get enrolled as voters.
The CEO arrived here on Wednesday. He said that West Godavari district stood first in the state in implementation of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), initiated by the Election Commission of India and also in enrolment of voters.
Referring to the conduct of 2K Run at the district and constituency levels, kalajathas, setting up flexi boards and posters to create awareness about the importance of getting registered as voters, the CEO appreciated the district administration for their efforts.
The CEO said they were going to launch a specially developed software application to help citizens to find out whether their names were registered in the electoral rolls and also at what polling booth they can exercise their franchise, along with route map.
He promised to give details of the software application which can tell the voter when he can visit the polling booth to exercise franchise so as to prevent wastage of time. For this, the electoral list needs to be prepared properly.
