Financial crisis led to YSRC failures
Vijayawada: YSRC has failed on various fronts. YSRC failed to organise mass programmes in decentralised ways. It is always concentrating on Jagan-centric programmes. They hadn’t properly planned their programmes, right from farmers’ loan waiving, MLAs’ corruption to Cabinet ministers defaulting to the banks. The reasons behind these are said to be the financial crisis in organising programmes and pressure from the ruling party on YSRC leaders in the form of legal action.
Though organising programmes like “Gadapa Gadapa ki YSRC” they couldn’t defend the party strongly as the TD was putting pressure on YSRC leaders. Some YSRC leaders opined that there is need to organise programmes continuously to stress that the YSRC is the only alternative to the TD. A TD leader said, “YSRC’s failure to establish itself among the public is the stepping stone for success for us.”
Despite adverse conditions like not being completely successful in waiving all the farmers’ loans, DWCRA womens’ loans, denial of stipend for unemployed youth, denial of special category status, allegations levelled on MLAs and ministers and others, the YSRC couldn’t make use of the opportunities to take them rigorously into the public eye.
A YSRC MLA said, “We do accept that we couldn’t get into the public domain extensively by raising our voices over public grievances… as we are facing a financial crunch and lack proper strategic plans.”
He also said they were being harassed by ruling party members who are filing false cases against the YSRC cadre. Even the constituency development funds were not given to YSRC MLAs but given to the TD leaders to monitor the development and welfare schemes, he alleged. “With this we are struggling hard to organise a programme and also didn’t have proper support and planning from the state party.”
Meanwhile, YSRC MP Vijaya Sai Reddy said they were working at the ground-level, taking all TD government failures into the public eye. “Our MLAs and party in-charge are with the public for about 21 days in a month, visiting each and every house with the programme ‘Gadapa Gadapa ki YSRC.”
