Arrangements Reviewed for PM's Visit to AP on January 16

Vijayawada: AP chief secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy on Saturday reviewed arrangements being made for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Palasamudram in Sri Sathya Sai district on January 16 for inaugurating the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NASIN).

Officials of various departments involved in PM’s visit presented reports of the measures they are taking.

According to the tentative programme, the Prime Minister will reach Palasamudram on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 16. He will inaugurate the NASIN and return the same day in the evening.

Dr. Jawahar Reddy ordered Sri Sathya Sai district collector and SP to ensure fool-proof arrangements in Palasamudram, including security, transportation, accommodation and medical services.

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy are likely to receive the PM.

The chief secretary ordered Information Department to provide wide publicity to Narendra Modi’s visit through Doordarshan, Akashvani and other electronic and print media. Welcome arches and other hoardings are being arranged.

AP director general of police K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, who participated in the meeting virtually, said elaborate arrangements are being made for the security of the Prime Minister. Using a PowerPoint presentation, GAD chief secretary R. Mutyala Raju explained measures being taken by various departments.

AP SIB IG Vineet Brijlal, Sri Sathya Sai district collector Arun Babu, SP Madhava Reddy, director (Protocol) Balasubramanyam Reddy, DME Dr. Narasimham, I&PR joint director T. Kasturi and Fire Services director D. Murali were among the officials present at the review meeting.
