Excise Minister Releases Water from Ramanpad Project for Kharif Season

Hyderabad: Excise minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Sunday directed irrigation officials to release water for cultivation from the Ramanpad project which irrigates some areas of the undivided Mahbubnagar district.

The minister visited the project on Sunday and reviewed the water storage status with irrigation officials. Many farmers had brought to the attention of the minister that there was not enough water for the Kharif season, that were drying up and that water should be released at least for the last wetting.

The minister told officials that steps should be taken to ensure that there is no problem in drinking water during the summer and that irrigation water is provided to the crops at the end of the crop.
