No one is leaving Congress party, Ponnam ridicules Bandi's claims

Karimnagar: BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar slammed the remarks of Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar that the Congress would split after the Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP national general secretary had stated that former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was engineering the collapse of the Congress government in the state.

In a satirical take on Sanjay, Prabhakar said that one who had failed in intermediate exams was now talking like a graduate in astrology while predicting the future.

No one, not even the second-rung leaders, was quitting the Congress. Instead, several key leaders from the BRS and the BJP were evincing a switchover to the Congress, he said.

In a separate statement on Sanjay’s remarks, TPCC general secretary Addanki Dayakar said, “The comments have once again exposed the friendship between the BJP and the BRS. We are very clear about the unethical politics indulged in by the BJP. This is a people's government. They will protect it by all means. Attempts to unseat it will not be tolerated by the people.”

Prabhakar, speaking after offering Sankranti prayers at the Sri Raja Rajeswhara Swamy temple at Vemulawada on Sunday, that the BJP leaders were behaving as if the Gods belonged to only some people and are into political marketing in the country which they should stop immediately.

It was Rajiv Gandhi who had excavated the history of Lord Rama but the BJP is using gods to survive in politics. The country’s four Jagat gurus had cautioned that it was unwise to inaugurate the temple without completing the total construction works.

“When we opposed the BJP on the same issue, they alleged that the Congress party was against Hinduism,” he said.
