Holi celebrations continue in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Holi celebrations continued with full fervour for the second day in the city. Many employees of the central government-run offices played with colours as Monday was holiday for them. Rain dance and DJ music events were also arranged by hotels in the city, much to the joy of youngsters.
City police personnel also took out time to enjoy the festival of colours. Joint commissioner of police A.S. Khan and DCP Navin Gulati and district collector Pravin Kumar joined the celebrations. Some voluntary organisations also conducted events for special children. Young members of JCI Vizag celebrated Holi with special children of Hidden Sprouts in Lawson’s Bay Colony and distributed chocolates, activity books and refreshments during the event. The children played with natural Holi colours brought by JCI members.
JCI Vizag members were happy that their Holi has become more meaningful with natural colours and they urged citizens to spend money for causes and betterment of the society around them rather than on unnecessary lavish things.
