Nellore: Gaiety and devotional fervour marked the celebration of Sri Rama Navami at most of the temples of Lord Sri Rama on Saturday.
However. a majority of people would celebrate the festival on Sunday as Navami thidhi is available with sun rise on Sunday.
Hundreds of devotees thronged the shrines of Sri Rama across Nellore and Prakasam districts. Temple committees organised special rituals and distributed prasadam to devotees.
Meanwhile Brahmotsavams commenced on a grand note at the three centuries old Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Buchireddypalem, 16 km from Nellore, on Saturday. According to temple trustees, special days of the festival include, Hanumantha Seva on April 16, Garuda Seva on April 17, celestial wedding of the Lord on April 18, chariot and float festivals on April 19.
