CBI files chargesheet against Vyapam scam accused
Indore: The CBI, probing the cases under Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, on Monday filed a chargesheet in a special court here against an accused in connection with the irregularities in Pre-Medical Test (PMT) held in 2009.
The chargesheet was filed before the special judge Raghvendra Singh Chouhan against Purshottam Khoiya under various sections of IPC for impersonation, cheating, forgery etc, a CBI official said.
Khoiya is accused of sending a dummy candidate in his name to appear for the PMT and securing admission through fraudulent means in the state-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College here.
The multi-crore rupee professional examination scam allegedly involves several high-profile professionals, politicians and bureaucrats as accused.
Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), popularly known as Vyapam, holds examinations for various posts such as teachers, medical officers, constables and forest guards.
The instances of irregularities in PMT are probed separately by the state and Central agencies.
