KCR plans to defeat top Congress leaders
Hyderabad:TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is preparing a plan of action to defeat senior Congress leaders in the 2019 elections.
The TRS has targeted TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife Padmavathi, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy and vocal critics A. Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka among others.
TRS leaders said every MLA faces some anti-incumbency and the ruling party wants to capitilise on this in the constituencies represented by top Congress MLAs.
Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy had won from Huzurnagar of the old Nalgonda district by about 24,000 votes against TRS candidate Kasoju Shankaramma in 2014. The TRS is considering fielding Mr Saidi Reddy against the TPCC chief in Huzurnagar.
Mr Saidi Reddy is an NRI who joined the TRS recently, and the ruling party feels that he will be a strong candidate to fight against Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Mr Jana Reddy won the Nagarjunasagar seat by 16,457 votes, defeating the TRS’ Nomula Narasi-mhaiah. The TRS is considering fielding Mr Narasimhaiah again.
In 1994, Mr Jana Reddy was defeated by TD candidate G. Ram Murthy Yadav from the Chalaku-rthi Assembly constituency. The TRS got his son-in-law Badugula Lingaiah Yadav elected to the Rajya Sabha.
Voters from the Yadava community play a big role in Nagarjunasagar, and the TRS had nominated Mr Lingaiah Yadav with an eye on this, and had asked him to support Mr Narasimhaiah.
In the Kodada Asse-mbly constituency, the TRS is considering fielding Mr Sashidhar Reddy against Ms Padmavathi, the wife of Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy.
In Kodangal against Mr Revanth Reddy, the TRS is planning to field Mr P. Narendar Reddy, the bro-ther of transport minister P. Mahendar Reddy.
Against Mr Vikram-arka in Madhira, the TRS is searching for a strong candidate. Expelled TD leader Motkupalli Naras-imhulu may be considered for Madhira if he joins the party.
If the Congress fields Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy from the Nagarku-rnool constituency, the TRS may field MLC K. Damodar Reddy.
