Suryapet, Rajahmundry National Highway hits block
The design was sent to the Union ministry of road transport and highways which in turn sent it to the PMO.
Khammam: The proposal to build the Suryapet-Rajahmundry National Highway has hit a speed bump with the Centre raising questions over the bypass roads planned between Khammam and Devarapally.
The NHAI project director of NHAI and state road and buildings department officials had proposed roads to byp-ass Khammam, Wyra, Tallada, Kallur, Penuba-lli, Sattupalli, Damma-pet and Aswaraopet in Khammam and the Bhadradri-Kothagudem projects.
R&B minister Nagesw-ara Rao yielded to the demand of locals in every mandal headquarters and asked the officials to include bypass roads in the plan. The design was sent to the Union ministry of road transport and highways which in turn sent it to the PMO. The Centre said numerous bypass roads are not viable.
