Chennai: Taking exception to the comments of actor Gayathri Raghuram in the programme 'Bigg boss' on slum dwellers, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol. Thirumavalavan on Wednesday said she should go and live in a slum for ten days to know about the people there.
"Instead of living in the 'Bigg Boss' set for 100 days, she should live in a slum for at least ten days", he said, reacting to reporters query on the controversial comments.
He also said actor Kamal Haasan should have avoided the 'Bigg Boss' programme. Thirumavalavan said people in the slum are humane and their values are good. When asked if the actor was commenting on the angry behaviour of slum dwellers, Thirumavalavan said "All human beings get angry. It does not depend on their environment. Those who are democratic and oppose injustice get angry".
When asked if non-vegetarian food habits of the people have an effect on their physical and mental health, the VCK leader said diet had nothing to do with health. "People with good thoughts have good health", he added.
