AICC Appoints Jumbo Campaign Committee for Telangana Assembly Elections
Hyderabad: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Friday appointed a jumbo campaign committee for the poll-bound Telangana.
Former MP Madhu Yashki Goud will chair the committee with another former MP, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, as co-chairman and Syed Amzhatullah Husseini as convener.
The party also appointed a 37-member executive committee for the campaign committee in which the PCC chief, CLP leader, MPs, MLAs, former MPs and ex-MLAs and DCC presidents will be special invitees.
The AICC also appointed 17 party persons from neighbouring states as Lok Sabha observers to oversee preparations for the ensuing Telangana Assembly elections. The observers include MLAs, MLCs, ex-ministers and public representatives from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and other states. Some of them are AICC secretaries.
The observers are: Prakash Rathod (for Adilabad), Srinivas Mane (Bhongir), Allam Prabhu Patil (Chevella), Prasad Abbayya (Hyderabad), Christopher Tilak (Karimnagar), Arif Naseem Khan (Khammam), P.T. Parameshwar Naik (Mahbubabad), Mohan Kumaramangalam (Mahabubnagar), Rizwan Arshad (Malkajgiri), Basavraj Madhavrao Patil (Medak), P.V. Mohan (Nagarkurnool), Ajay Dharam Singh (Nalgonda), C.D. Meyyappan (Narayankhed), B.M. Nagaraj (Nizamabad), Vijay Namdvrao Wadettiwar (Peddapalli), Ruby R. Manoharan (Secunderabad) and Ravindra Uttamrao Dalvi (Warangal).
