Chennai: Family and friends pay homage
CHENNAI: While the untimely demise of 23-year old Chennai techie Subhasri has shaken the conscience of the state and nation, a sense of gloom prevailed over the small locality in Chromepet where the young girl used to live.
The only child to her parents-Ravi and Geetha, Subhasri was all set to leave for Canada shortly. Neighbours, well-wishers, colleagues, friends and activists thronged her home to offer condolences, even as her parents remained inconsolable. A certified Zumba trainer who had conducted several workshops, her friends and colleagues recall her as a 'lively, spirited and ambitious girl'. “She was a very jovial and soft-spoken girl. This is a tragic way for a life to end. Pompousness and apathy of politicos killed her. It's time for us to create a movement to ban hoardings”, tweeted one of her friends.
Meanwhile, social activist 'Traffic 'Ramaswamy slammed the government and demanded that action be taken against the guilty. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, he said, “ I've been a lone crusader in this fight for a long time now. No one, except the public conscious court, is ready to support me for everyone has too many personal stakes to risk. I hope more people join me and help bring justice to the wronged victims.”
