Mumbai firm to report on INS Virat
Vijayawada: ‘Master and Associates’ of Mumbai, have been given the task of preparing a project report on INS Virat. They will soon submit the report to the GoAP.
The AP Tourism Authority (APTA), will submit this project report to the CM, once he is back from his foreign tour, most likely in the first week of November, with the Chief Minister, Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu, taking a call on this, before the second week of November.
Similarly, a DPR on the historic Sir Arthur Elibank Havelock Bridge over the river Godavari, will be submitted to the CM, by APTA, shortly.
As it is a Rs 116 crore project, the government may opt for either a Public Private Partnership or form a Special Purpose Vehicle, to initiate the project before the 2019 elections. Havelock Bridge extends from Rajahmundry in the East Godavari district to Kovvuru (West Godavari). Commissioned in 1900 and built by Sir Authur Cotton, it facilitated plying of trains between Kolkata and Chennai. The Godavari Arch Bridge was later constructed as a replacement for the Havelock Bridge.
