Hyderabad: Wire snaps, Metro services disrupted
Hyderabad: Metro services were disrupted for more than one and a half hour from Moosapet to Miyapur on Saturday due to the snapping of overhead electrical wires.
As per the L&THMRL, due to catenary overhead equipment (OHE) parting in the section, Metro services were halted from 9.57 am to 11.40 am. At 11.40 am, single line working was implemented and services were restored between Moosapet and Miyapur in degraded mode. But due to the delay, upset commuters vented ire on the Metro officials, who returned their ticket money.
Following the wire snapping, the maintenance team was mobilised and sent to the site along with Catenary Maintenance Vehicle (CMV) to carry out the restoration activity.
The restoration was completed and normal services from the degraded mode were resumed at 1.20 pm. L&THMRL is investigating the cause of failure.
Meanwhile, no train was stopped mid-way and the passengers were dropped off at the nearest Metro station. The Moosapet-Miyapur services were stopped while other services continued to run.
