K.A. Paul writ plea dismissed
Hyderabad: A Telangana High Court bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar refused to entertain a writ petition filed by Praja Shathi Party seeking the allotment of the common symbol of a helicopter or ring. Dr K.A. Paul, party president, pointed out that the party was registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI) since 2009. By an order of October 18, the ECI informed the petitioner that the application cannot be considered as the party had failed to produce its annual accounts, financial statements and election expenses. The bench pointed out that the ECI order was not challenged before the court. As the Assembly election notification had been issued, the electoral process cannot be interdicted.
