Rajasthan: Ban on export of calves lifted

The Chief Minister had constituted a cabinet panel which proposed to relax the norms.

Jaipur: Bowing to pressure from farmers, Vasundhara Raje government has relaxed ban on export of male calves. It was one of the major demands by farmers during their agreement with the state government three months ago claiming that the ban on the sale of cattle particularly on calves up to age of three was hurting them financially.

Since farming and animal husbandry are major occupations for people in the state, the BJP government was quick to fulfill its promise as Assembly elections are less than a year away. The Chief Minister had constituted a cabinet panel which proposed to relax the norms.
