AP's Hindupur MP comes to rescue in Lok Sabha
Anantapur: Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav from Andhra Pradesh was among MPs who caught the accused who created panic in Lok Sabha by spraying smoke gas.
At the time, Madhav of ruling YSRCP was sitting in the front row, taking part in a debate. He immediately reacted after one of two assailants jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha.
When the assailant approached the Speaker’s podium by jumping over the tables of MPs, the Hindupur MP reacted spontaneously and tackled the person by twisting the assailant’s hands backwards. By that time a few other MPs moved in and caught the person.
“The assailant sprayed smoke gas. We caught him suspecting that he may be carrying explosives with him,” Madhav told Deccan Chronicle.
Gorantla Madhav was formerly a police inspector. He joined politics and got elected as MP from Hindupur LS seat.
