Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet meeting concluded on Thursday with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presiding over the session. During the meeting, the Cabinet granted approval to the Governor's speech. Addressing both the Houses, Governor Tamilisai will address the Assembly on Friday.
The agenda for the Governor's speech was a focal point of discussion during the meeting, marking the first address by the Governor since the Congress government came into power. The Cabinet deliberated on the key messages that should be conveyed to the public. It is anticipated that the Governor's speech will primarily emphasize the current state of Telangana and outline the envisioned future of the region. The government's progress in fulfilling its election promises, including the implementation of two out of six guarantees, was reviewed. Further, the Cabinet discussed plans for the realization of the remaining four guarantees.
Regarding administrative arrangements, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the vacant space in the Marrichenna Reddy Human Resource Development Center (MCRHRD) will be used for government purposes. The Praja Bhavan office will also see utilization, and the CM camp office will be established within the available space in MCR HRD. Notably, there are no plans for the construction of new buildings, and the Chief Minister affirmed a commitment to the efficient utilization of existing legislative structures.
CM Revanth Reddy clarified, "The BAC meeting is scheduled for Friday, during which we will determine the legislative session's agenda. Council meetings will continue to be held in the old assembly building, and legislative sessions will take place in the existing assembly building. Our aim is to create an assembly environment akin to a parliament."
