One faculty with many fake IDs appear in engineering colleges affiliated to JNTU

Hyderabad: In gross violation of rules, the names of many teaching faculty, including lecturers and professors, appear in the records of multiple private engineering colleges affiliated to JNTU.

During regular inspections, authorities found 903 fake ID cards with faculty members’ names appearing in two or more engineering colleges. For example, a college has issued an ID card to one Mr Bala Reddy while the same person’s name has been shown as Balashekara Reddy in the records of another engineering college. To avoid suspicion, some lecturers had ID cards from one college with their full names while only their surnames were mentioned in those issued by other colleges.

“These faculty members were present in a college at the time of inspection by our officials. When inspection was carried in another college after a few days, some of them were seen there too, raising doubts among us. An engineering college should employ the required number of staff for the courses, but this issue has exposed staff shortage. Action will be initiated against the concerned,” said JNTU registrar Mr N. Yadaiah said.
