Hyderabad's Ambedkar statue yet to be open for the public
HYDERABAD: Even after a month of a grand inauguration of the city’s newest tourist attraction, the imposing bronze statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, is yet to be open for the public. As things stand, that may possibly take more time.
Gates remain closed even as construction works are still underway. According to indications, it could take some more weeks to be done with the finishing touches.
Visitors could be seen clicking pictures outside the entry gate of the 125-ft statue. Some enterprising persons, who tried to gatecrash into the premises, were stopped by the guards.
Roads and buildings department officials informed Deccan Chronicle, “Flooring work, which is progressing, might take another two weeks. It is only after the construction work is completed that HMDA will take it over”.
