Water tested for e-coli: Pulla Rao
Amaravati: People of old Amaravati are gathering during the evenings at Dhyana Buddha ghat to catch a glimpse of the Krishna Harathi rituals where the priests narrate the history of Harathi offered to Goddess Krishnaveni.
Agriculture minister P. Pulla Rao, Pedakurapadu MLA K. Sridhar and others joined the Harathi programme and received blessings from the priests.
Vedic scholar Peesapati Nageswara Sarma explained about the Naga Harathi, Nandi Harathi, Kumbha Harathi, Nakshatra Harathi and Karpura Harathi offered to Krishna river on the occasion.
Mr Pulla Rao claimed that Krishna Pushkaralu was also being celebrated in other states too, but it was only the AP government that was offering good services and has made the best possible arrangements to the public.
He asked every citizen of Andhra Pradesh should celebrate the Krishna Pushkaralu by taking holy dips in the river.
Mr Pulla Rao said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was working tirelessly for the peaceful and flawless conduct of Pushkaralu and the Opposition parties were unable to digest this. He said that the Opposition was spreading rumours like presence of bacteria in the water.
Refuting allegations, Mr Pulla Rao said that the officials were continuously testing the water of the river to ensure there is no spread of water-borne diseases.
