Vijayawada: Sand can now be ordered through your mobile phone here after in AP. For this you just have to download an app. The State Government is all set to launch a mobile application to deliver sand hassle-free with nominal loading and transport prices. It had fixed prices for the same on distance and quantity basis. If one orders sand through the app or Mee seva, the government is taking measures to supply it to end users accordingly.
To create awareness among the public on the prices set by the government, it is campaigning using hoardings, posters and so on. It is even mentioning about taking stringent action against any, if they are charging more than the fixed price. Krishna district collector B. Lakshmi Kantham said that they will launch the mobile application at the earliest and will effectively deliver it.
According to the collector, the mobile app is set to be launched so one can order sand when and where required. He said that the nearest geographic sand stock points will be appointed by the district administration so that people can select their desired location and price. The loading charge for 3 cubic metres of sand was fixed at Rs 400 for tractors, while for a lorry it is Rs 600 for every two units.
The transportation of sand for 5 km by tractors is fixed at Rs 440 while for trucks it is Rs 1,100. For 10 km, the charge of transportation is Rs 660 for tractors and Rs 1,100 for trucks. Beyond 10 km, Rs 30 is charged per km for tractors and Rs 85 per km for trucks. The collector added that payments can be made online with receipts sent to stock points to deliver the sand to improve transparency and stop illegal mining.
