All Telangana HC Court Proceedings To Be Live-Streamed Soon: Aradhe

Hyderabad: Chief Justice Alok Aradhe of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday, in his Independence Day address, announced that all courtroom proceedings of the HC will be live-streamed on the Internet for greater transparency.

Speaking after hoisting the National Flag, he said: “Presently, only the proceedings of Court Hall No.1 (bench headed by Chief Justice) is being covered through live-streaming and hybrid mode. The live-streaming facility is being extended to all other courts also very shortly.”

He said that the hybrid mode of hearing will also be made available to advocates and parties in person in all court halls, so that access to justice with ease is a reality for all stakeholders.

Speaking about the process to digitise administrative and judicial records of the High Court, Chief Justice Aradhe said that currently, nearly eight crore pages were digitised and steps were being taken up to hasten the process.

Emphasising the speedy disposal of pending cases in the High Court, Chief Justice Aradhe said that the percentage of disposal of the cases has increased over the past few weeks. He lauded the HC judges for making efforts in this regard.

Chief Justice Aradhe said that the National Lok Adalats, held on 11 February and June 10, collectively helped dispose of a total of 7,10,384 cases, which is the highest in the record. In regular Lok Adalats, 41,552 cases were settled.

This year, a total of 1,815 legal awareness camps were conducted and the benefits were extended to 2,18,803 persons. HC judges, government counsels, advocates and court staff participated, he said.
