Madhya Pradesh: Girl hints suicide on Facebook post
Bhopal: Cops in a Madhya Pradesh town have a bizarre but very sensitive job in their hands to trace a “lovelorn” girl who dropped hints to commit suicide by consuming poison in her Facebook post on Tuesday evening.
A massive search operation has been launched in district headquarters town of Jabalpur to prevent a girl student of a local college from ending her life after she posted an alarming message, “drinking poison”, on her FB wall.
The message followed a series of posts on the FB wall describing how failure in her love life had her heartbroken. In a span of barely ten minutes between 10.08 am and 10.18a, on Tuesday evening, she posted 11 messages which read — feeling alone, feeling heartbroken, feeling sad, feeling emotional, feeling disappointed, feeling angry, feeling pained, feeling hurt, feeling worried, feeling broken, and feeling shocked — and signed off with the post “drinking poison”.
Her FB account was immediately flooded with pleadings from her well- wishers dissuading her from taking the extreme step. Nearly two hours before at 8.54 in the evening, she had posted a couplet which read, “Raho na paoge kabhi bhulakhar dekho (I dare you to live by burying me into oblivion)”.
“We have alerted the cyber cell team to find girl’s location. Besides, a massive search operation has been launched in Jabalpur town for the past 20 hours to trace her But, we are yet to trace her,” a senior district police officer told this newspaper on Wednesday requesting not to identify him or the girl, considering sensitiveness of the case.
The girl may be alarmed and take the extreme step if she came to know that police was after her, he said. Police has found a ray of hope to save her when the girl went online again at 5.39 on Wednesday evening.
