THANJAVUR: Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) here is organising the third open day events on September 15 and 16, to commemorate the 117th birth anniversary of its founder-director V. Subramhanyan.
In a press release, C. Anandharamakrishnan, director of the Institute said that events have been scheduled for farmers, women self help groups and members of the public on September 15, while for school and college students the events are on September 16.
He said that the theme of the open day is “IIFPT’s contribution to farmers livelihood, feeding population and food processing sector.” The open day is intended to sensitise visitors on advantages of food processing and contribution of food processing sector in nation building. It is also aimed at educating public on food safety and hygienic practices.
