AP government committed to efficient 24x7 power supply

VIJAYAWADA: Special chief secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand, who is also the chairman and managing director of AP TRANSCO, underlined that the state government is committed towards ensuring efficient power supply 24x7 in a cost effective manner.

He was addressing engineers of AP power utilities on the birth anniversary of great Indian engineer and Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada on Friday. Vijayanand, along with AP GENCO managing director K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu and other senior officers garlanded the statue of Visvesvaraya on the occasion

Vijayanand said state government is determined to make AP power utilities the best in the country and set benchmarks in every aspect of power sector. He pointed out that the government is taking measures to improve internal efficiency, introduce advanced technologies in power generation.

“As progress of the state is interlinked with power sector, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and energy minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy are committed to generating and supplying power on a cost-effective basis, benefitting the energy sector and consumers as well.”, the special CS stated.

Speaking on the occasion, Chakradhar Babu said with sustained efforts, power utilities are able to generate, transmit and distribute 24x7 quality power as per the demand of consumers.

AP TRANSCO JMD (Vigilance & Security) B. Malla Reddy, director (Grid & Transmission), and senior officers of AP TRANSCO, AP GENCO and AP Discoms attended the programme.
