MeeSeva services to be hit across Telangana

Impact due to shuffling of officials in new districts.

Hyderabad: Citizens will not be able to access some services on the largest online citizen charter network in Telangana State in the next 10 days due to the reorganisation process in the new districts. Obtaining certificates from the revenue department like caste, income and residence, NOCs from various government departments, Pahani collections of lands, mutation of lands, property and revenue records, birth and death certificates, applications for Apathbandhu and other beneficiary schemes will not be available at MeeSevas across the state, barring Hyderabad city.

In the reorganisation process of districts, divisions and mandals, the newly-appointed and transferred officials have not obtained ‘digital keys’ from the MeeSeva organisation. MeeSeva’s technical wing executive engineer P. Srinivas told this newspaper that the IT department and MeeSeva have completed upgradation of application/software and other required resources by October 12.

However, the officials concerned must apply to MeeSeva seeking digital keys for accessing the applications received under citizen charters. “When officials apply for the key, we will generate and provide it in 24 hours,” he said. An official in the revenue department said that all staff in new districts, divisions and mandals was busy with priority-based issues.

“From tahsildar to district collector, all are holding a series of reviews to implement government schemes in their respective localities. We have already asked tahsildars to obtain the digital key as early as possible from the MeeSeva authorities. By the end of next week, all the officials will get the key, following which MeeSeva services will be restored,” the official explained.
