Krishnagiri: A wild jumbo killed a 50-year-old shepherd woman who entered the reserved forest for cattle grazing in Krishnagiri district on Sunday.
Police said, S. Madhamma of Ethakenaru village, near Natrampalayam along Hosur-Hogenakkal road of Denkannikottai taluk, was trampled to death by a wild tusker. The tragic incident occurred early today when the woman entered the forest region with her livestock.
She was tending the cattle into the forest area for grazing. However, Madhamma, ignorant of an elephant hiding in a nearby bush, was caught off-guard by its trunk and grotesquely trampled to death .
