CBI probe biased, will establish father's innocence, says Avinash
Anantapur: Following the arrest of his father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy on Sunday morning in connection the with Vivekananda Reddy murder case, Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy vowed to go to any length to prove his innocence, claiming the CBI was conducting a biased investigation based on false allegations rather than evaluating facts.
Avinash Reddy was in Hyderabad when his father was arrested and rushed to Pulivendula on Sunday afternoon and met with family members and close aides.
Avinash Reddy spoke to the media at his Pulivendula residence after studying the arrest memo served by the CBI, and alleged that the case was based on false allegations, while facts were buried.
The YSRC leader claimed that the new CBI team was ignoring key elements. He said that Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, Vivekananda Reddy's son-in-law, knew about the murder and withheld information concerning the suicide note that the slain leader allegedly left behind, but the CBI failed to question him.
"The CBI ignored key facts without incorporating them into the investigation. The CBI is downplaying significant facts that we submitted via our representation," Avinash Reddy said, adding that the CBI investigation should be conducted fairly rather than targeting individuals.
The Kadapa MP said he had submitted representation to the CBI director and detailed information of facts to the new SIT team. However, the investigation agency continued with a report of the previous investigating officer (IO) and that the facts were not enclosed in the probe.
Avinash Reddy said he was the first to alert the police about Vivekananda Reddy’s murder. "Even though Vivekananda Reddy's son-in-law knew about the murder, he didn't inform the police. He had never been questioned by the CBI. Despite being accused of killing Vivekananda, the CBI made Dastagiri an approver and granted him bail,” he stated.
Avinash Reddy alleged that CBI officers and Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Dr Suneetha Nareddy were steering the investigation in a specific direction with a single agenda to target them. He also stated that they have faith and respect for the judiciary, and that truth and justice would prevail.
Avinash Reddy has said that his family will come out of the case unscathed and with integrity, despite being targeted.
