Hyderabad: Software professional from New Zealand, Prashanth Reddy, an accused in the TSPSC Group I prelims question paper leakage scam, has denied any role in it.
In an email response to the notice served on him by Hyderabad police’s special investigation team (SIT), he said that he did not receive the question paper and had attempted the entrance on his abilities. He is the brother-in-law of one of the main accused in the scam, A. Rajashekar.
SIT claimed that they have strong evidence that Prashanth Reddy obtained the question papers from Rajashekar using a remote sharing application and prepared for the entrance using the same and had even qualified.
Meanwhile, SIT is also probing if any of the question papers have been supplied to any more persons apart from those who have been arrested. Further, the tracking of the trail of money in connection with the leakage is also being investigated.
The main accused in the entire scam, Pulidindi Praveen Kumar, a TSPSC employee, did not reveal much and remained a tough nut during the interrogation. It was based on technical evidence and suspicious transactions in his accounts that others were also arrested.
On the possibility of the papers being supplied to more persons, SIT members suspect there could have been a cash transaction, which cannot be detected. However, they are digging deep on this angle.
So far SIT has arrested 16 of the 17 accused persons with Prashanth Reddy declared absconding. A look out circular has been issued against him.
