BJP starts screening 'The Kerala Story' in Adilabad

ADILABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Adilabad unit, in a bid to woo young voters, screened The Kerala Story for 250 girl students at a theatre on Monday, as part of a campaign to highlight issues prevalent in the country and tighten its grip on the Hindu vote bank.

Party sources said that the film will also be screened on LED devices in villages to create awareness about Love Jihad among Hindu women and girls, to depict how religious fanatics trap them in the guise of love and shift them to terror camps.

Adilabad BJP district president Payal Shankar said that the rationale behind the move was to prevent Hindu women from falling into the religious traps of terrorists.

He appealed to women and girls to watch The Kerala Story become aware of the modus operandi used by some religious groups to trap Hindus.

Payal Shankar said they will screen the film for free in villages.

Further, he also asked people to watch the movie “from a terrorist point of view” and not a religious one.

The initiative is, however, not the first of its kind as the party had also arranged a screening of The Kashmir Files previously in Adilabad.

BJP leaders, not wishing to be named, said the party needed to strengthen its public outreach, with its poor showing in Karnataka polls set to have an impact in Telangana state as well.
