Nellore: Union minister for science and technology Dr Harsh Vardhan took part in the mass plantation of one lakh saplings at Krishnapatnam Port on Saturday evening. The event started with guard of honor for the minister and chief guest Dr Harsh Vardhan. He inaugurated the mass plantation event by planting a sapling at the port.
Port management claimed that they had planted over 3.2 million saplings till now as part of green belt programme apart from 1 lakh saplings being planted now. The minister also laid a foundation stone for Krishnapatnam Port School on the occasion. MD of Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd C. Sasidhar and CEO Anil Yendluri were present.
