Ch Ayyanna Patrudu turns up late, denied entry onto dais at SRM University
GUNTUR: AP minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu was prevented from stepping on to the dais at the SRM University’s inaugural programme at Neerukonda of Amaravati on Saturday. On stage were AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu who inaugurated the university’s AP cmpus. The police had placed barricades to prevent people from getting on to the dais.
Mr Ayyanna Patrudu came late for the programme and tried to walk past the barricades but was refused entry by the police. Mr Ayyanna Patrudu told them that he was a minister, and other TD leaders also intervened on his behalf, but to no avail. Angered by this, the minister left the venue. However, later, he told mediapersons that such experiences were commonplace for politicians and he had not taken it seriously. Political leaders face accolades, complaints and sometime embarrassing situations too.
It may be noted that Mr Ayyanna Patrudu, who has locked horns with his cabinet colleague Ganta Srinivasa Rao, had on Friday, presented some papers related to the Vizag land scam to the Special Investigation Team.
