Father receives call from dead son's phone three hours after his death!

Mr Reddy, who was unaware of his son's death on the morning of August 11, received a missed call from his son's mobile number at 8.15 am.

Bengaluru: Adding to the mystery of IIIT-B Integrated M.Tech student Goluguri Sai Sarat’ death, a call from Sarat’s mobile phone was made to his father G. Kodandarama Reddy by an unknown person, three hours after Sarat’s death. This has raised Mr Reddy’s suspicion of “someone’s involvement in Sarat’s death”.

Mr Reddy, who was unaware of his son’s death on the morning of August 11, received a missed call from his son’s mobile number at 8.15 am. He "tried to answer the call, but the call got disconnected." About 10 minutes later, Mr Reddy again received a call from one Ramachandra, who informed him about Sarat’s death.

According to the college management, the security guard at the hostel building heard the loud thud around 4.50 am and found Sarat in a pool of blood. “If Sarat had died at the said time, who called me from his mobile phone three hours after his death? It is learnt that data and call records from Sarat’s mobile phone are missing. There is definitely an involvement of someone in his death, who had intentionally deleted the data, may be pictures taken at the party and the call records,” Mr Reddy said.

According to the police, Sarat’s mobile phone was recovered from his room on the seventh floor and the data and call records from the mobile phone were found missing, except details of the last call which was made to Mr Reddy.

“I know Sarat better than anyone else. We spoke in the afternoon on August 10. He was all fine and excited about the birthday party of his friend on the same day. Why would he commit suicide when there was nothing bothering him” Mr Reddy asked.

The police said that they are investigating all possible angles and they believe that they may get a solid lead once the call details and the erased data from the mobile phone are retrieved.
